Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin

Translation · EN

"Those who remember Allah while standing, sitting, or lying on their sides." The interpretation of Qatadah: He said: These are your states, O son of Adam. Remember Allah while you are standing; if you are unable, then remember Him while you are sitting; and if you are unable, then remember Him while you are on your side. This is an ease and a mitigation from Allah. "And they reflect upon the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], 'Our Lord,'"—they say: Our Lord—"'You have not created this in vain.'" That is: indeed, that will come to pass, by the permission of Allah, at the appointed time. "Exalted are You, so protect us from the punishment of the Fire,"—avert from us the punishment of the Fire.
