therein; it is Hajj and 'Umrah."
Muhammad said: His saying: "That I will not suffer to be lost" can be read with the 'alif' opened [annī] or broken [innī]. As for the one who reads it with the 'fatha' (opened), the meaning is: "Their Lord responded to them, in that I will not suffer to be lost..." And for the one who reads it with the 'kasra' (broken), the meaning is: "He said to them, 'Verily, I will not suffer to be lost.'" And "a reward" is an emphatic verbal noun (masdar). [Verses 196-198]
فِيهِ؛ الْحَج وَالْعمْرَة)).
قَالَ مُحَمَّد: قَوْله: ﴿أَنِّي لَا أضيع﴾ تقْرَأ بِفَتْح الْألف وبكسرها؛ فَمن قَرَأَهَا بِالْفَتْح فَالْمَعْنى: فَاسْتَجَاب لَهُم رَبهم بِأَنِّي لَا أضيع، وَمن قَرَأَهَا بِالْكَسْرِ فَالْمَعْنى: قَالَ لَهُم: إِنِّي لَا أضيع، و ((ثَوَابًا)﴾ مصدر مُؤَكد. [آيَة ١٩٦ - ١٩٨]
