(And let those fear, who, if they were to leave behind weak offspring) Qatadah's interpretation: He said: It means: Whoever attends a dying person should command him to exercise justice and benevolence, and should forbid him from inequity and injustice in his will, and he should fear for his own children what he was fearing for the children of the one whose death he attended.
﴿وَلْيَخْشَ الَّذِينَ لَوْ تَرَكُوا مِنْ خَلفهم ذُرِّيَّة ضعافاً﴾ تَفْسِير قَتَادَة: قَالَ: يَقُول: من حضر مَيتا فليأمره بِالْعَدْلِ وَالْإِحْسَان، ولينهه عَن الحيف والجور فِي وَصيته، وليخش على عِيَاله مَا كَانَ خَائفًا على عِيَال من حَضَره الْمَوْت.
