Translation · EN

"Or do they have a share of the dominion? Then, they would not give the people [even as much as] the speck on a date seed." The Naqir: It is the small indentation found on the back of a date seed.

Muhammad said: The meaning is that if they were given authority, they would not give the people any portion of it, not even a Naqir; and the Naqir here is used as a metaphor.

﴿أَمْ لَهُمْ نَصِيبٌ مِنَ الْمُلْكِ فَإِذًا لَا يُؤْتُونَ النَّاسَ نَقِيرًا﴾ النقير: النقرة تكون فِي ظهر النواة.

قَالَ مُحَمَّد: الْمَعْنى: أَنهم لَو أعْطوا الْملك، مَا أعْطوا النَّاس مِنْهُ النقير؛ والنقير هَا هُنَا تَمْثِيل.
