"Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due" [the verse]. When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) conquered Mecca, he summoned Uthman ibn Talha and said: Show us the key. When he brought it to him, Abbas said: O Messenger of Allah, combine it for me with the stewardship (of the pilgrims). Uthman withdrew his hand, fearing that he (the Prophet) would hand it over to Abbas. The Messenger of Allah then said: O Uthman, if you believe
﴿أَنْ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تُؤَدُّوا الأَمَانَاتِ إِلَى أَهلهَا﴾ الْآيَة. ((لما فتح رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَكَّةَ، دَعَا عُثْمَان بْن طَلْحَة، فَقَالَ: أرنا الْمِفْتَاح، فَلَمَّا أَتَاهُ بِهِ قَالَ عَبَّاس. يَا رَسُول الله اجمعه لي مَعَ السِّقَايَة. فَكف عُثْمَان يَده؛ مَخَافَة أَن يَدْفَعهُ إِلَى الْعَبَّاس؛ فَقَالَ رَسُول الله: يَا عُثْمَان، إِن كنت تؤمن
