"You will find others who wish to be secure from you and secure from their own people." The interpretation of Mujahid: He said: [They are] a group of people from the people of Mecca. They used to come to the Prophet and pretend to be Muslims, then return to Quraysh and relapse into idolatry, seeking (its blessing, or to be secure) here and there. So they were commanded (folio 71) to fight them, if they did not withdraw and reconcile. [Verse 92]
﴿سَتَجِدُونَ آخَرِينَ يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يَأْمَنُوكُمْ ويأمنوا قَومهمْ﴾ تَفْسِير مُجَاهِد: قَالَ [هُمْ] أنَاس من أهل مَكَّة؛ كَانُوا يأْتونَ النَّبي يسلمُونَ عَلَيْهِ رِيَاء، ثُمَّ يرجعُونَ إِلَى قُرَيْش يرتكسون فِي الْأَوْثَان يَبْتَغُونَ (بركتها، أَو يأمنوا﴾ هَا هُنَا وَهَا هُنَا؛ فَأمروا (ل ٧١) بقتالهم؛ إِن لم يعتزلوا ويصلحوا.
