"And we will provide for our family," if you send him with us, "and we will increase the measure of a camel-load." In the interpretation of al-Hasan, Yusuf had promised them that if they brought their brother, he would add to them the load of a camel without cost. The term "camel" (ba'ir) — in the interpretation of Mujahid — refers to a donkey; he said: "This is a dialect of some Arabs." "That is an easy measure." Al-Suddi said: "Meaning: it is fast, without any delay in it."
Al-Hasan said: "The people used to come to him for supplies, and they would be detained for a long time until they were measured [their portions]."

﴿ونمير أهلنا﴾ إِذَا أَرْسَلْتَهُ مَعَنَا ﴿وَنَزْدَادُ كَيْلَ بعير﴾ وَكَانَ يُوسُفُ وَعَدَهُمْ - فِي تَفْسِيرِ الْحَسَنِ - إِنْ هُمْ جَاءُوا بِأَخِيهِمْ أَنْ يَزِيدَهُمْ حِمْلَ بَعِيرٍ بِغَيْرِ ثَمَنٍ، وَالْبَعِيرُ - فِي تَفْسِيرِ مُجَاهِدٍ -: الْحِمَارُ؛ قَالَ: وَهِيَ لغةٌ لِبَعْضِ الْعَرَب ﴿ذَلِك كيل يسير﴾ قَالَ السُّدِّيُّ: يَعْنِي: سَرِيعًا لَا حَبْسَ فِيهِ.
قَالَ الْحَسَنُ: وَقَدْ كَانَ الْقَوْمُ يَأْتُونَهُ لِلْمِيرِ، فَيُحْبَسُونَ الزَّمَان حَتَّى يُكَال لَهُم.
