Volume 2 · Page 103870

Translation · EN

"And when he provided them with their provisions," meaning: the food supply, and he gave them the full measure. "He put the drinking cup into the saddlebag of his brother." The drinking cup is the king's vessel from which he used to drink; it is the suwa' (measuring bowl). Joseph's brothers departed with their brother alongside them, and they traveled on. "Then an announcer called out," meaning: a crier called out.

"O company of the caravan," meaning: the people of the caravan, "indeed, you are thieves."
