Volume 2 · Page 105488

Translation · EN

"So when they entered upon him," meaning: they returned to Egypt and entered upon Joseph while they did not recognize him. "They said, 'O 'Aziz, adversity has touched us and our family,'" meaning: need. "'And we have brought goods, poor in quality,'" meaning: few. "'So give us full measure,'" with our goods, "'and be charitable to us.'" Qatadah said: He means, give us charity by returning our brother to us.
