Translation · EN

"And he raised his parents upon the throne," meaning upon his couch, according to the interpretation of Qatadah. "And they fell down before him in prostration," regarding which Qatadah said: Prostration was the greeting for those before you, but Allah granted this Ummah [the greeting of] peace (Salam), which is the greeting of the people of Paradise.

"And brought you from the desert," and they were in the land of Canaan.

﴿وَرفع أَبَوَيْهِ على الْعَرْش﴾ أَيْ: عَلَى سَرِيرِهِ؛ فِي تَفْسِيرِ قَتَادَة ﴿وخروا لَهُ سجدا﴾ قَالَ قَتَادَةُ: وَكَانَ السُّجُودُ تَحِيَّةَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ، فَأَعْطَى اللَّهُ هَذِهِ الأُمَّةَ السَّلامَ؛ وَهُوَ تَحيَّةُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ.

﴿وَجَاءَ بِكُمْ مِنَ البدو﴾ وَكَانُوا بِأَرْض كنعان.
