"And how many a sign"—meaning: how many a token and proof—"in the heavens and the earth"—meaning: in the creation of the heavens and the earth that guides them to the oneness of Allah—"they pass by while they are heedless of them," meaning: they do not take admonition from them.
﴿وكأين من آيَة﴾ أَيْ: وَكَمْ مِنْ علامةٍ وَدَلِيلٍ ﴿فِي السَّمَاوَات وَالْأَرْض﴾ أَي: فِي خلق السَّمَوَات وَالأَرْضِ تَدُلُّهُمْ عَلَى تَوْحِيدِ اللَّهِ ﴿يَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهَا وَهُمْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضُونَ﴾ أَي: لَا يتعظون بهَا.
