"For them is a punishment in the worldly life," meaning: the polytheists of the Arabs by the sword on the Day of Badr, and for the last of the disbelievers of this nation by the first blast of the Trumpet. "And the punishment of the Hereafter," the Fire, "is more severe" than the punishment of the world.
