"Allah eliminates what He wills or confirms, and with Him is the Mother of the Book." Regarding its interpretation, some have said: Everything that one says is recorded; then, whenever it is Monday or Thursday, that which was neither good nor evil is erased from it, while what is other than that is confirmed. "And with Him is the Mother of the Book" means: The Preserved Tablet (al-Lawh al-Mahfuz). The interpretation of the "Mother of the Book" is the essence of the Book and its foundation.
﴿يَمْحُو اللَّهُ مَا يَشَاءُ وَيُثْبِتُ وَعِنْده أم الْكتاب﴾ تَفْسِيرُ بَعْضِهِمْ: يُكْتَبُ كُلَّ مَا يَقُولُ؛ فَإِذَا كَانَ كُلُّ يَوْمِ اثْنَيْنِ وَخَمِيسٍ، مُحِيَ عَنْهُ مَا لمْ يَكُنْ خَيْرًا أَوْ شَرًّا، وَأُثْبِتَ مَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ ﴿وَعِنْدَهُ أم الْكتاب﴾ يَعْنِي: اللَّوْحَ الْمَحْفُوظَ، وَتَفْسِيرُ أُمِّ الْكتاب جملَة الْكتاب وَأَصله.
