"Indeed, I disbelieved in what you associated me with before," meaning: in the worldly life; he disavows being a partner.
Yahya: From Ibn Lahi'ah, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ziyad, from Dukhayn al-Hajari, from 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir, who said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When Allah gathers the first and the last, and finishes the judgment between them, the believers will say: 'Has our Lord passed judgment between us? Who will intercede for us with our Lord?' They will say: 'Let us go to Adam, for he is our father; Allah created him with His Hand and spoke to him.' They will come to him and ask him to intercede for them, and Adam will say: 'Go to Noah.' They will come to Noah, and he will direct them to Abraham, then they will come to Abraham and he will direct them to Moses, then they will come to Moses and he will direct them to Jesus, then they will come to Jesus, and he will say: 'I will direct you to the Unlettered Prophet.' They will come to me, and Allah will permit me to rise toward Him. A fragrance more pleasant than any that anyone has ever smelled will surge from my seat until I come to my Lord. He will grant me the right of intercession and place a light for me from the hair of my head to the nail of my feet. Then the disbelievers will say: 'The believers have found someone to intercede for them, so who will intercede for us? It is none other than Iblis who led us astray.' So they will come to him and say: 'The believers have found someone to intercede for them, so rise and intercede for us, for you are the one who led us astray.' He will rise, and a stench more foul than any that anyone has ever smelled will surge from his seat. Then (he will be magnified for Hell), and he will say at that time: 'Indeed, Allah promised you the promise of truth, and I promised you, but I betrayed you,' up to the end of the verse."
