Volume 2 · Page 116431

Translation · EN

"Say to My servants who have believed, that they should establish prayer," meaning the five daily prayers, maintaining them, "and spend from what We have provided them, secretly and publicly," meaning the obligatory zakat.

"Before there comes a day," meaning the Day of Resurrection, "in which there is no exchange," meaning they will not trade therein, "nor friendship," meaning that all friendships will be severed therein, except for the friendship of the believers.

Muhammad said: "Al-khilal" is a verbal noun; it is said: "khalaltu fulanan," meaning I befriended such-and-such person, as a khilal and mukhallah, and the noun is "al-khullah."
