Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 2 · Page 117037

Translation · EN

"Our Lord, indeed I have settled some of my descendants," meaning: Ishmael, "in an uncultivable valley near Your sacred House, our Lord, that they may establish prayer," meaning: I only settled them in Mecca so that they may worship You. "So make hearts," meaning: hearts, "among the people incline toward them," meaning: yearning for the Hajj, according to the exegesis of al-Hasan. Ibn Abbas said: "Had he said 'make the hearts of the people,' then the Jews, the Christians, and everyone else would have performed Hajj to it."
