"And We have placed within the heaven constellations," meaning: stars; according to the tafsir of Ibn Abbas and Qatadah. "And We have beautified it," We have beautified the heaven with stars, "for the onlookers."
﴿وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِي السَّمَاءِ بُرُوجًا﴾ يَعْنِي: نُجُومًا؛ فِي تَفْسِيرِ ابْنِ عَبَّاس وَقَتَادَة ﴿وزيناها﴾ زينا السَّمَاء بالنجوم ﴿للناظرين﴾
