"Until the day of the specified time," meaning: the first blowing [of the Trumpet] through which every living being will die. The enemy of Allah intended for Him to delay him until the final blowing [of the Trumpet] through which the creation will be resurrected.
﴿إِلَى يَوْم الْوَقْت الْمَعْلُوم﴾ يَعْنِي: النَّفْخَةَ الأُولَى الَّتِي يَمُوتُ بِهَا كُلُّ حَيٍّ، وَأَرَادَ عَدَوُّ اللَّهِ أَنْ يُؤَخِّرَهُ إِلَى النَّفْخَةِ الآخِرَةِ الَّتِي يُبْعَثُ بِهَا الْخَلْقُ.
