Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 2 · Page 123654

Translation · EN

[He] said, 'Have you given me good tidings although old age has reached me?' He marveled at his old age and the old age of his wife. 'Of what then do you give good tidings?'

Muhammad said: The root of 'tubashshirunni' (do you give me good tidings) is 'tubashshirunani' (do you give me good tidings); one of the two [nuns] was omitted due to the heaviness of combining them. This applies to whoever reads it with a kasrah on the nun.
