His saying: "The command of Allah has come, so do not be impatient for it." The interpretation of al-Hasan: This is a response from Allah to the saying of the polytheists to the Prophet (peace be upon him): "Bring us the punishment of Allah," and to their saying: "Hastened to us our portion" and similar statements. So Allah said: "The command of Allah has come, so do not be impatient for it," meaning: that the punishment is coming and is near. "Exalted is He" - He declares Himself free of imperfection - "and high is He" - He is exalted above what the polytheists say.
قَوْلُهُ: ﴿أَتَى أَمْرُ اللَّهِ فَلا تستعجلوه﴾ تَفْسِيرُ الْحَسَنِ: هَذَا جوابٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ لِقَوْلِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ: ﴿ائْتِنَا بِعَذَابِ الله﴾، ولقولهم: ﴿عجل لنا قطنا﴾ وَأَشْبَاهِ ذَلِكَ؛ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ: ﴿أَتَى أَمر الله فَلَا تستعجلوه﴾ أَيْ: أَنَّ الْعَذَابَ آتٍ قَرِيبٌ ﴿سُبْحَانَهُ﴾ ينزه نَفسه ﴿وَتَعَالَى﴾ ارْتَفع عَمَّا يَقُول الْمُشْركين
