Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 2 · Page 129825

Translation · EN

[That they may bear their own burdens], meaning: their sins, [in full on the Day of Resurrection], referring to those who said: 'Legends of the ancients,' [and some of the burdens of those whom they misguide without knowledge. Unquestionably, evil is that which they bear], meaning: how wretched is that which they carry.

Yahya [narrated] from Abu al-Ashhab, from al-Hasan, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

'Whoever calls to guidance and is followed in it, he shall have a reward equivalent to those who followed him, without that diminishing anything of their rewards. And whoever calls to misguidance and is followed in it, he shall bear a burden of sin equivalent to those who followed him, without that diminishing anything of their burdens.'

Surat an-Nahl from verse (26) to verse (29).
