"And whatever of blessings and good things you have, it is from Allah; then when distress touches you," [meaning] illness and hardships, "to Him you cry aloud [tajarun]," [meaning] you call out; that is: you call upon Him and do not call upon the idols.
﴿وَمَا بِكُمْ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ﴾ الْمَرَض والشدائد ﴿فإليه تجأرون﴾ تَصْرُخُونَ؛ أَيْ: تَدْعُونَهُ وَلا تَدْعُوا الْأَوْثَان.
