Translation · EN

"And We have not sent down upon you the Book, except for you to make clear to them that wherein they have differed, and as guidance and mercy," He says: in it is guidance and mercy "for a people who believe."

Muhammad said: Whoever reads it as (wa-rahmatan) in the accusative case (nasb), then the meaning is: We did not send it down upon you except for clarification, guidance, and mercy.

﴿وَمَا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ إِلا لِتُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ الَّذِي اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ وَهدى وَرَحْمَة﴾ يَقُولُ: فِيهِ هُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ ﴿لِقَوْمٍ يُؤمنُونَ﴾.

قَالَ محمدٌ: مَنْ قَرَأَ (وَرَحْمَةً) بِالنَّصْبِ، فَالْمَعْنَى: مَا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا للْبَيَان وَالْهِدَايَة وَالرَّحْمَة.
