"And Allah has made for you in your homes a place of rest," meaning: [a place] for you to dwell in. "And He has made for you out of the hides of cattle," meaning: from hair and wool, "dwellings which you find light on the day of your travel," meaning: during your journey, "and on the day of your stay," meaning: your settlement when not traveling. "And of their wool and their fur and their hair, [He has made] furnishings," al-A'mash said: Furniture (al-athath) is the wealth one enjoys, "until a time," meaning: until death.
Muhammad said: The singular of furniture (al-athath) is athatha. It is said: A man has become wealthy (aththa ar-rajulu ya'iththu aththan) when he becomes a possessor of wealth. And furniture (al-athath), according to linguists, refers to household goods.
