Translation · EN

"And the day We will resurrect from every nation a witness," meaning: a prophet who will testify against them (folio 177b) that he had conveyed the message to them. "Then permission will not be granted to those who disbelieved, nor will they be asked to appease [Allah]." These are [various] stations: permission will not be granted to them in one station of the discourse, while it will be granted to them in another station.

﴿وَيَوْمَ نَبْعَثُ مِنْ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيدا﴾ يَعْنِي: نبياًّ يشْهد عَلَيْهِم (ل ١٧٧) أَنَّهُ قَدْ بَلَّغَهُمْ ﴿ثُمَّ لَا يُؤْذَنُ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَلا هُمْ يستعتبون﴾ هِيَ مَوَاطِنٌ: لَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فِي مَوْطِنٍ فِي الْكَلامِ، وَيُؤْذَنُ لَهُم فِي موطن.
