"And when those who associated [partners with Allah] see their partners," meaning: their devils who used to lead them astray in the world. "They will say, 'Our Lord, these are our partners whom we used to invoke besides You.'" They said this because they were the ones who invited them to the worship of idols. "So they will project to them the statement," meaning: the children of Adam will project to their devils the statement, which is to say: they will speak to them, saying, "'Indeed, you are liars,'" meaning: you lied to us in the world and deceived us."
﴿وَإِذَا رَأَى الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا شُرَكَاءَهُمْ﴾ يَعْنِي: شَيَاطِينَهُمُ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يُضِلُّونَهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا ﴿قَالُوا رَبَّنَا هَؤُلاءِ شُرَكَاؤُنَا الَّذِينَ كُنَّا نَدْعُو مِنْ دُونك﴾ قَالُوا هَذَا؛ لأَنَّهُمْ هُمُ الَّذِينَ دَعَوْهُمْ إِلَى عِبَادَةِ الأَوْثَانِ ﴿فَأَلْقَوْا إِلَيْهِم القَوْل﴾ أَلْقَى بَنُو آدَمَ إِلَى شَيَاطِينِهِمُ الْقَوْلَ؛ أَيْ: حَدَّثُوهُمْ؛ فَقَالُوا لَهُمْ: ﴿إِنَّكُم لَكَاذِبُونَ﴾ أَي: أَنكُمْ كذبتمونا فِي الدُّنْيَا وغررتمونا
