Translation · EN

the two [types of creation or states], "And it is He who takes your souls by night"—meaning: sleep—"and knows what you have committed by day"—meaning: what you have done during the day—"then He resurrects you therein"—Mujahid said: meaning, in the daytime—"so that a specified term may be fulfilled"—meaning: the Hour, through the alternation of the night and the day.

٢ - ! (وَهُوَ الَّذِي يتوفاكم بِاللَّيْلِ﴾ يَعْنِي: النَّوْمَ ﴿وَيَعْلَمُ مَا جَرَحْتُمْ بِالنَّهَارِ﴾ مَا عَمِلْتُمْ بِالنَّهَارِ ﴿ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُكُمْ فِيهِ﴾ قَالَ مُجَاهِدٌ: يَعْنِي: فِي النَّهَارِ. ﴿ليقضى أجل مُسَمّى﴾ يَعْنِي: السَّاعَةَ بِاخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ.
