Translation · EN

"And thus We show Abraham the kingdom [of the heavens and the earth]"—meaning the dominion of the heavens and the earth, to the end of the verse.

Tafsir of Qatada: He said: It was mentioned to us that Abraham was fled with from a tyrannical, affluent ruler, so he was placed in a subterranean cave, and his sustenance was placed in the tips of his fingers; he would not suck a finger without finding in it..."

﴿وَكَذَلِكَ نري إِبْرَاهِيم ملكوت﴾ يَعْنِي: ملك ﴿السَّمَاوَات وَالْأَرْض﴾ الْآيَة.

تَفْسِير قَتَادَة قَالَ:

ذكر لَنَا أَنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فُرَّ بِهِ مِنْ جَبَّارٍ مترفٍ؛ فَجُعِلَ فِي سربٍ، وَجُعِلَ رِزْقُهُ فِي أَطْرَافِ أَصَابِعِهِ، فَجَعَلَ لَا يَمَصُّ إِصْبَعًا إِلَّا وَجَدَ فِيهَا
