His saying: "Indeed, Allah is the cleaver of grain and date seeds." Al-Hasan said: Meaning, it splits open to reveal the plant.
"He brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living." Al-Hasan's interpretation: He brings the believer out of the disbeliever, and He brings the disbeliever out of the believer. "That is Allah, so how are you deluded?" Meaning: How are your minds turned away?!
قَوْلُهُ: ﴿إِنَّ اللَّهَ فَالِقُ الْحَبِّ والنوى﴾ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ: يَعْنِي: يَنْفَلِقُ عَنِ النَّبَاتِ.
﴿يُخْرِجُ الْحَيَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَيخرج من الْمَيِّت من الْحَيّ﴾ تَفْسِيرُ الْحَسَنِ: يُخْرِجُ الْمُؤْمِنَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِ، وَيُخْرِجُ الْكَافِرَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِ ﴿ذَلِكُم الله فَأنى تؤفكون﴾ أَي: فيكف تصرف عقولكم؟!
