"And it is He who produced you from one soul" (Quran 6:98), meaning: Adam. "Then [there is] a place of dwelling and a place of deposit" (Quran 6:98). Ibn Abbas's interpretation is: the place of dwelling is the womb, and the place of deposit is the loins. Al-Hasan used to recite it as 'fa-mustaqirrun' (with a kasra under the qaf) and 'wa-mustawda'un', interpreting it as: 'dwelling' in [his lifespan] and 'deposited' [in his grave] (fol. 98) from the day he is placed into it until the day he is resurrected. Surah al-An'am from verse (99) only.
