"And thus do We explain the verses in various ways, so that they might say, 'You have studied' (darasta)" (Quran 6:105), meaning: you have read and learned. Some of them read it as (darasta) [in a different form], meaning: you have studied with the People of the Two Books.
﴿وَكَذَلِكَ نُصَرِّفُ الآيَاتِ وَلِيَقُولُوا دَرَسْتَ﴾ أَيْ: قَرَأْتَ وَتَعَلَّمْتَ، وَبَعْضُهُمْ يَقْرَؤُهَا (دَارَسْتَ)؛ أَيْ: قَارَأْتَ أَهْلَ الْكِتَابَيْنِ.
