Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 2 · Page 260118

Translation · EN

"So eat of that upon which the name of Allah has been mentioned," meaning: that which has been slaughtered appropriately (dhabihah). This is because the polytheists of the Arabs used to eat carrion, blood, the strangled, the beaten to death, the fallen, the gored, and what wild beasts had eaten; so Allah prohibited all of that, except for that which was properly slaughtered.
