"[If He wills, He can do away with you] by a devastating punishment; meaning: the polytheists, [and bring in after you whoever He wills as He brought you into being]—meaning, He created you—[from the descendants of another people]."
﴿إِن يَشَأْ يذهبكم﴾ بِعَذَابِ الِاسْتِئْصَالِ؛ يَعْنِي: الْمُشْرِكِينَ ﴿وَيَسْتَخْلِفْ مِنْ بَعْدِكُمْ مَا يَشَاءُ كَمَا أنشأكم﴾ خَلَقَكُمْ ﴿مِنْ ذُرِّيَّةِ قَوْمٍ آخَرِينَ﴾
