{Say, "Come, I will recite what your Lord has forbidden to you."} This is what He has forbidden to you: {That you do not associate anything with Him, and to parents, good treatment.} Muhammad [Ibn Abi Zamanin] said: Meaning, He has enjoined upon you good treatment of your parents. {And do not kill your children out of poverty} — meaning, for fear of destitution — {We provide for you and for them. And do not approach immorality} — meaning, adultery — {what is apparent of it} — meaning, public adultery — {and what is concealed} — meaning, secret illicit relationships. {And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right. This He has instructed you with} — meaning, He has commanded you with it.
﴿قُلْ تَعَالَوْا أَتْلُ مَا حَرَّمَ ربكُم عَلَيْكُم﴾ وَهَذَا مَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ: ﴿أَلَّا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا﴾ قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: أَيْ: وَأَوْصَاكُمْ بِالْوَالِدَيْنِ حُسْنًا ﴿وَلا تَقْتُلُوا أَوْلادَكُمْ مِنْ إملاق﴾ أَيْ: مَخَافَةَ الْفَاقَةِ ﴿نَحْنُ نَرْزُقُكُمْ وإياهم وَلَا تقربُوا الْفَوَاحِش﴾ يَعْنِي: الزِّنَا ﴿مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا﴾ يَعْنِي: الزِّنَا الظَّاهِرَ ﴿وَمَا بَطَنَ﴾ يَعْنِي: الْمَخَالَّةَ فِي السِّرِّ ﴿وَلا تَقْتُلُوا النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلا بِالْحَقِّ ذَلِكُمْ وَصَّاكُمْ بِهِ﴾ أَمركُم بِهِ.
