Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 2 · Page 313162

Translation · EN

"[Say: Indeed, my prayer and my rites of sacrifice] Qatadah said: (My rites of sacrifice) means: my Hajj and my slaughtering [and my living and my dying]. Muhammad said: The preferred choice among the reciters for (my living/mahyaya) is to give the ya a fatha due to the sukun of the alif preceding it, so that two quiescent letters do not meet; whereas the matter regarding the ya in (my dying/mamati) allows for both its fatha and its sukun."
