He said, "My Lord, indeed I do not possess [anything] except myself and my brother," meaning: and my brother does not possess anything except himself. "So part us from the defiantly disobedient people," meaning: his people.
فَقَالَ: ﴿رَبِّ إِنِّي لَا أَمْلِكُ إِلَّا نَفسِي وَأخي﴾ أَيْ: وَأَخِي لَا يَمْلِكُ إِلَّا نَفْسَهُ ﴿فَافْرُقْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ الْقَوْمِ الْفَاسِقين﴾ يَعْنِي: قومه.
