Translation · EN

"Say, 'My Lord has only forbidden immoralities—what is apparent of them and what is concealed.'" Al-Hasan said: Meaning, adultery, both its secret and open forms.

"And sin," meaning: acts of disobedience. "And oppression without right," meaning: injustice. "And that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down authority," meaning: a proof; that is, the idols they worshiped besides Allah.

"And that you say about Allah that which you do not know," claiming that Allah commanded them to worship them without any knowledge having come to them from Allah.

Surah Al-A'raf, from verse (34) to verse (37).
