"And do not sit on every path"—meaning, every road. "Threatening"—meaning, intimidating with killing. "And observe how was the end of the corrupters"—meaning, those who were destroyed from the past nations when they denied their messengers.
﴿وَلَا تقعدوا بِكُل صِرَاط﴾ طريقٍ. ﴿توعدون﴾ تُخَوِّفُونَ بِالْقَتْلِ ﴿وَانْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَة المفسدين﴾ يَعْنِي: مِنْ أُهْلِكَ مِنَ الْأُمَمِ السالفة حِين كذبُوا رسلهم.
