Translation · EN

"And indeed, Our messengers came to them with clear proofs"—meaning the People of the Scripture—"then indeed, many of them after that, throughout the land, were transgressors," meaning: polytheists, referring to those among them who did not believe.

﴿وَلَقَد جَاءَتْهُم رسلنَا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ﴾ يَعْنِي: أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ ﴿ثُمَّ إِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِنْهُمْ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فِي الأَرْض لمسرفون﴾ لَمُشْرِكُونَ؛ يَعْنِي: مَنْ لَمْ يُؤْمِنْ مِنْهُم.
