"And when the Qur'an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention." Al-Hasan said: They used to speak during the prayer until this verse was revealed.
﴿وَإِذا قرئَ الْقُرْآن فَاسْتَمعُوا لَهُ وأنصتوا﴾ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ: كَانُوا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ فِي الصَّلاةِ حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ.
