Regarding His saying: "And Allah did not make it," meaning the reinforcement of angels, "except as a glad tiding and so that your hearts would be reassured by it," i.e., so that they might be tranquil.
قَوْله: ﴿وَمَا جعله الله﴾ يَعْنِي: الْمَدَدَ مِنَ الْمَلائِكَةِ ﴿إِلا بشرى ولتطمئن بِهِ قُلُوبكُمْ﴾ أَي: تسكن.
