His saying: "Do you think that you will be left alone, while Allah has not yet made known those among you who strive?"
Muhammad said: Allah knew, before commanding them to fight, who would fight and who would not fight, but He knew that in the unseen. So, Allah intended the knowledge upon which He rewards and by which the proof is established; which is the knowledge of actions.
"And have not taken other than Allah, His Messenger, and the believers as a waliijah (inner confidant)."
Muhammad said: "Waliijah" is derived from "al-wuluuj" (entry); it means that a man from the Muslims takes an outsider and an intimate associate from the polytheists.
Surat at-Tawbah from verse (17) to verse (18).
قَوْلُهُ: ﴿أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَنْ تُتْرَكُوا وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا مِنْكُم﴾.
قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: قَدْ عَلِمَ اللَّهُ قَبْلَ أَمْرِهِمْ بِالْقِتَالِ مَنْ يُقَاتِلُ مِمَّنْ لَا يُقَاتِلُ، لَكِنَّهُ كَانَ يَعْلَمُ ذَلِكَ غَيْبًا؛ فَأَرَادَ اللَّهُ الْعِلْمَ الَّذِي يُجَازِي عَلَيْهِ، وَتَقُومُ بِهِ الْحُجَّةُ؛ وَهُوَ عِلْمُ الْفِعَالِ.
﴿وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَلا رَسُولِهِ وَلا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلِيجَةً﴾ بطانةً.
قَالَ مُحَمَّد: ﴿وليجة﴾ مَأْخُوذَةٌ مِنَ: الْوُلُوجِ؛ وَهُوَ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ رجلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ دَخِيلا من الْمُشْركين وخليطاً.
