Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 2 · Page 683Surah 98: Al-Bayyinah

Translation · EN

"And among the bedouins are those who take what they spend" in Jihad "as a loss," meaning the hypocrites, because they have no intention.

Muhammad said: His saying "as a loss" means a fine and a forfeit.

"And await misfortunes for you," meaning that Muhammad and the believers might perish, so he would return to the religion of the polytheists of the Arabs.

"Upon them is a cycle of evil," meaning the consequence of evil.
