"Their building which they built will not cease to be a doubt in their hearts," meaning: a doubt. "Unless their hearts are cut into pieces." Mujahid's interpretation: He says: unless they die.
Yahya said: He informed that they will die upon hypocrisy.
Surat at-Tawbah from verse (111) to verse (112).
﴿لَا يَزَالُ بُنْيَانُهُمُ الَّذِي بَنَوْا رِيبَة فِي قُلُوبهم﴾ أَيْ: شَكًّا. ﴿إِلا أَنْ تَقَطَّعَ قُلُوبهم﴾ تَفْسِيرُ مُجَاهِدٍ: يَقُولُ: إِلا أَنْ يَمُوتُوا.
قَالَ يحيى: أَخْبَرَ أَنَّهُمْ يموتون على النِّفَاق.
