(Do they not see that they are tried every year once or twice?) Al-Hasan said: meaning, they are tested through Jihad alongside the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and they see the victory of Allah—may He be glorified and exalted—for His Messenger, (yet they do not repent) from their hypocrisy, (nor do they take heed).
