[And their faces] will not be covered [by qatar]. That is: overshadowed by darkness.
Muhammad said: The root of al-qatar is: the dust that contains blackness.
﴿وَلَا يرهق وُجُوههم﴾ أَي: يغشى ﴿قتر﴾.
قَالَ محمدٌ: الْقَتَرُ أَصْلُهُ: الْغَبْرَةُ الَّتِي فِيهَا سَواد.
