"And most of them follow nothing but conjecture," meaning: they worship the idols, seeking through them closeness to Allah Almighty—so they claim—in order for their livelihoods to be rectified for them in this world, and they do not do that except out of conjecture.

﴿وَمَا يَتَّبِعُ أَكْثَرُهُمْ إِلا ظَنًّا﴾ أَيْ: يَعْبُدُونَ الأَوْثَانَ يَتَقَرَّبُونَ بِهَا إِلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى - زَعَمُوا - لِيُصْلِحَ لَهُمْ مَعَايِشَهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا، وَمَا يَفْعَلُونَ ذَلِك إِلَّا بِالظَّنِّ.
