Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 2 · Page 81785

Translation · EN

"Our Lord, make us not a trial for the wrongdoing people." Mujahid said: They mean, 'Do not punish us at the hands of Pharaoh's people, nor with a punishment from Yourself, so that Pharaoh and his people would say: "Had they been upon the truth, they would not have been punished, nor would we have been given power over them," and thus be tempted by us.'

Surah Yunus from verse (87) to verse (89).
