"And We had certainly settled the Children of Israel in an agreeable settlement," meaning: We caused them to dwell in a place of truth, "and We provided them with good things; and they did not differ until knowledge came to them." This is like His saying: "And do not be like those who became divided and differed after the clear proofs had come to them."
Surah Yunus from verse (94) to verse (97).
﴿وَلَقَدْ بَوَّأْنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مُبَوَّأَ صدق﴾ أَيْ: أَنْزَلْنَاهُمْ مَنْزِلَ صِدْقٍ ﴿وَرَزَقْنَاهُمْ مِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ فَمَا اخْتَلَفُوا حَتَّى جَاءَهُم الْعلم﴾ هِيَ كَقَوْلِهِ: ﴿وَلا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ تَفَرَّقُوا وَاخْتَلَفُوا مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُم الْبَينَات﴾.
