Yahya said: It reached me that there was between them and the punishment a distance of four miles.
And His saying: "And We gave them enjoyment for a time," means: until death without punishment.
بَعْدَ مَا نَزَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ.
قَالَ يحيى: بَلَغَنِي أَنَّهُ كَانَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ الْعَذَابِ أَرْبَعَةُ أميالٍ.
وَقَوْلُهُ: ﴿ومتعناهم إِلَى حِين﴾ يَعْنِي: إِلَى الْمَوْتِ بِغَيْرِ عَذَابٍ.
